  2. Type 1 diabetes: The number of individuals with type 1 diabetes in India is estimated to be around 1.5-2 million. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune condition where the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks insulin-producing cells in the pancreas.
  3. Type 2 diabetes: India has a significant burden of type 2 diabetes. The number of people with type 2 diabetes in India is estimated to be around 77-80 million. Type 2 diabetes is a condition characterized by insulin resistance and often associated with lifestyle factors such as obesity and sedentary behavior.
